Mission Impossible 3

Went to see MI3 the other day and this is what I thought.
I didn't like the first film and didn't care much for the second either and I don't much care for Tom Cruise(Unless he's in Top Gun....I'm totally not gay.) So I didn't go into this expecting much, the tickets were free and I like to watch films so why not give it ago.
I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. MI3 is awesome it starts perfectly setting the scene perfectly for the rest of the film. Cruise is Cruise through out and it's Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman who really shines through out. His bad guy is the badest bad guy for a while. An unassuming guy to look at everytime he opens his mouth it's to speak evil and threaten poor Cruise and his loverly fiancee. He's truly scary with out ever really doing anything.
The golden touch of JJ Abrams continues as his direction in this is perfect action movie stuff. The set pieces are mostly big and very well pulled off. There isn't just one that stands out though each set piece wouldn't look out of place as the climax to most other action films we've seen recently.
All in all I have to say I haven't enjoyed a throw away action in years, it's not quite in the league with commando but it's very good all the same.
